William Weiller

OBITUARY: 

WEILLER, William (aka Bill, Billy, Boppa), born in St. Paul, Minnesota, to parents Della Shapere Weiller and William Weiller on January 11, 1929, passed away peacefully on July 27, 2026.

Bill came to Atlanta to attend Georgia Tech, where he was a loyal member of Phi Epsilon, and was “a hell of an engineer”.  While at Tech, Bill met the “love of his life” and married Margaret Strauss Weiller, of blessed memory.  After spending a year in Baltimore, Maryland in the Air Force, protecting the US East Coast during the Korean War, he and Margaret returned to Atlanta, where Bill worked at Items, Inc. with his father-in-law, Oscar Richard Strauss.  He then worked at Gaylord Container and ended his career at Fulton Paper Company where he was the “ultimate” salesman, retiring at age 80.

Bill was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by his three daughters and their husbands, Debi (David) Bock, Margo (Shiel) Edlin, and Beth (Joel) Arogeti; his nine grandchildren, Aaron Bock, Marty (ZoAnna) Bock, Hannah (Daniel) Habif, Elli (Louis) Zweig, Adrienne (Jeffrey) Harari, Ari Edlin, Michelle (Ian) Stribling, Jonathan Arogeti and Sarah Arogeti; his nine great-grandchildren, Myers and Adler Bock, Shaya and Bari Habif, Mia and Zachary Harari, Judah, Matthew and Margaret (Maggie) Stribling and many friends and acquaintances.

Bill was preceded in death by his sister and brother-in-law, Jean and Robert Rubenstein, his uncle, Henry Weiller (who treated Bill like his own son) and Oscar Richard Strauss III.  He is survived by his sister-in-law Arlene McDermott (Larry) and her children Lynn (Jim) Caswell and Rick (Ellen) Strauss and his son, Hunter (Audra), and his nephews, Billy Rubenstein and Paul Rubenstein, of blessed memory.

Bill’s family is grateful for the loving support from his devoted caregivers, Neril Bunsie and Marcia Morgan, and especially his dedicated physician, Dr. Arnold Mellits.  Also, a big thank you to The Weinstein Hospice.

His body was donated to Emory University School of Medicine.
