Renee Suzanne “Sue” Maline was born in 1943 in Fairfield, CT. She met her husband, Sandy Kasten, at the JCC in Bridgeport, CT, and they married in 1967. They lived in CT with their three daughters until they all moved to Atlanta in 1980. Prior to getting married, Sue worked as a buyer for Read’s department store in NYC. Later she worked as a bank teller and as a bookkeeper for various interior designers in Atlanta. Her greatest loves were undoubtedly her grandchildren, who she doted on as often as possible, and who affectionately referred to her as “Shush” as did so many others.
Sue is survived by her beloved husband of almost 59 years, Sandy Kasten; their children, Stacey (Karl) Hydrick, Rachel (Scott) Berenthal, and Jessica Kasten; her grandchildren, Danny (Kate) Hydrick, Adam Hydrick, and Jared and Kelli Berenthal. She was preceded in death by her parents, Rae and Max Maline, and her brothers, Albert, Morris and Eddie Maline.
