OBITUARY:
Irving Sidney “Sid” Camens, age 96, Savannah, Georgia, passed away February 20, 2025.
Born and raised in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Sid graduated from the University in Pittsburgh with a degree in Accounting / Business. He served in the US Army during the Korean War. He worked in the apparel industry as a salesman for several different companies before founding his own women’s clothing manufacturing company, Ambitions, Inc. But his overwhelming passion was his family. He spent most of his non-work time with his wife and 3 children; he enjoyed frequent visits with his 4 siblings, 3 granddaughters, and recently his great granddaughter. Sid’s hobbies included spending time at the beach as well as playing tennis, cards, and backgammon. He was an avid sports fan, faithfully following the Atlanta Braves and Falcons.
Survivors include his loving wife of 59 years, Adele Camens; daughter, Leslie Westmoreland, Savannah; son and daughter-in-law, Neal Camens and Courtney Cooper, Nottingham, Pennsylvania; son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Jennifer Camens, West Bloomfield, Michigan; grandchildren: Rachael Westmoreland and her husband, Elliott Gruber, Carli and Addison Camens; great grandchild, Nina Gruber; sister and brother-in-law, Sybil and Morris Cantor; sister-in-law, Carole Camens; brother -in-law and his wife, Lawrence and Eve Horwitz. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the charity of your choice. A graveside service will be held Monday, February 24, 2025 at Arlington Memorial Park with Rabbi Ron Segal officiating. Arrangements by Dressler’s Jewish Funeral Care, Atlanta (770) 451-4999.
