He practiced architecture for over fifty years. He retired from Sy Richards, Architect, Inc., which he founded in 1967. He earned degrees in both architecture and structural engineering from The Institute of Design a graduate school of the Illinois Institute of Technology, in Chicago, Illinois.
He enjoyed photography and spent many hours at his computer creating mixed media art using Photoshop. He was very prolific and shared the images with family and friends, in addition to showing his work at Atlanta Photography Group exhibits. An avid runner in the 80’s, he participated in The Peachtree Road Race and ran several marathons.
His family always enjoyed his wit, wisdom and generosity.
