OBITUARY:
Randy Tillery was born September 5, 1948 to Imogene and Richard Tillery in the orange fields of Lindsay, California.
He joyfully played baseball in high school, a skill he took into the Air force as a Sargeant from 1968-1972 where he proudly served at the Mcguire Air Force Base in New Jersey and Bitburg, Germany. He ultimately finished his military career in the Reserves from 1972-74.
He completed his undergraduate degree at Georgia State University in Atlanta, Georgia in Criminal Justice. His career took him from work in sales in Atlanta and Dallas, and to Salt Lake City as a medical office manager where he developed lifelong friends and companions.
His passions included fatherhood, camping and hiking with his family and friends, cooking, softball, bowling and the game of golf. His bowling career was widely admired with several 300s bowled. He was an excellent cook and believed in feeding family and friends alike; as feeding others was his true love language. He was an active member of Congregation Kol Ami in Salt Lake City and a leader in the youth program.
Randy died on August 11, 2024, following a diagnosis of pancreatic cancer. He is survived by Rachel Benator, his daughter Robin Lydia Tillery, his three sisters and a multitude of loved in-laws, nieces and nephews.
He is predeceased by his beloved son, Richard Josiah Tillery and his brother Phillip Tillery.
