OBITUARY
Michael Jacob Arnoldi

January 12, 1945 – May 8, 2026

Michael Jacob Arnoldi passed away peacefully after a courageous year-long battle with cancer, leaving behind a legacy of love, brilliance, and unwavering devotion to his family.

Born on January 12, 1945, in Tel Aviv, Israel, Michael was the beloved son of the late Manfred and Erna Arnoldi. He spent his formative years in Johannesburg, South Africa, where he pursued his passion for engineering and earned his degree. It was also there that fate led him to meet the love of his life, Helen Wise Arnoldi, while she was visiting family. Their connection was immediate and enduring—a true partnership built on love, laughter, and mutual respect.

Michael began his professional journey in South Africa as an electrical engineer with Siemens, where he quickly distinguished himself through his intellect and dedication. He later immigrated to Atlanta with Helen, where they married and built a beautiful life together, raising their two daughters, Michelle and Jennifer. After arriving in the United States, Michael continued his career with Western Electric, laying the foundation for a long and accomplished professional life.

A gifted and highly respected electrical engineer, Michael was known for his sharp mind, creativity, and exceptional problem-solving abilities. He later worked at Wika Instruments for many years before retiring. In addition to his engineering career, he also excelled as a top sales representative for Georgia Crown Distributing Co., where his charisma and strong work ethic set him apart.

Even in retirement, Michael returned to work purely for the joy it brought him, finding happiness in conversation and connection with those he met each day. This love of people remained a defining part of who he was. As a representative for Don Pablo Coffee Company, he became a familiar and beloved presence at local Costco locations—especially in Brookhaven. What began as simple customer interactions often grew into lasting friendships, as people returned not only for the coffee, but for Michael himself—his warmth, humor, and the genuine joy he brought to every conversation.

He shared a beautiful and enduring love with his beloved wife, Helen, his bride of nearly 56 years. Their marriage was built on unwavering devotion, deep respect, and a partnership that carried them through every season of life.

Above all, Michael was a devoted family man. He cherished his two daughters, Michelle and Jennifer, who were the greatest joys of his life. He loved them deeply and took immense pride not only in who they became, but in the honor of being their father. His love was steady, joyful, and unwavering, and it lives on through them.

He was a deeply cherished grandfather to Ava and Rayna, who were truly the apples of his eye. His pride in them was immeasurable, and the joy they brought him was evident to all who knew him.

He also warmly embraced his son-in-law, Scott, as well as bonus grandchildren, Alex and Brianna, extending his love generously and without condition. His heart had no limits—only an ever-growing capacity to love.

Michael will be remembered for his kindness, intelligence, humility, and the way he made everyone feel seen and valued. Whether in his kitchen—where he expressed love through cooking and baking—or in the quiet, meaningful moments he shared with others, he left a lasting impression on all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Michael is predeceased by his parents, Manfred and Erna Arnoldi, and his in-laws, Isaac and Rachel Wise. He is survived by his loving wife, Helen Wise Arnoldi; his children, Jennifer Arnoldi and Michelle Arnoldi Gaba (Scott); his grandchildren, Ava Benveniste and Rayna Benveniste; his brother-in-law, Eli Wise (Karen); his nephews; and many cousins, extended family members, and dear friends whose lives were touched by his warmth and generosity.

The family would like to express their deepest gratitude to the many friends and loved ones who have offered strength, love, and unwavering support throughout this journey. Your kindness will never be forgotten.

May Michael’s memory forever be a blessing, and may his legacy of love live on in all who knew him.

A funeral service will be held at Crest Lawn Cemetery, 2000 Marietta Blvd NW, Atlanta, GA 30318, on May 13, 2026 at 12 PM.

Following the funeral, Shiva will be observed at the Arnoldi home at 2632 Varner Drive Atlanta, GA 30345. Minyan services will be held Wednesday and Thursday evenings at 7:00 PM.
