OBITUARY:

Marvin Jay Zagoria was born in Brooklyn, NY, on December 8, 1945 to George and  Florence Zagoria. He would later move to Atlanta, GA, where he attended Oglethorpe University and Emory Law School.

Marvin traveled extensively as a young adult. He loved sports, was a diehard Braves fan, and an avid golfer for much of his life, sharing this passion with his family. He was also a brilliant coach, leading his children’s sports teams to countless championships. Family vacations to the beach were some of his happiest memories.

After the loss of their daughter Lauren, Marvin and ex-wife Janis created Lauren’s Run to honor her memory, which continues to this day and has raised over $5 million for pediatric cancer research.

Marvin is survived by his sons Daniel (Alyssa) and David (Cyndee), his daughters Haley (Casey) and Kristen, and his beloved 7 grandchildren.

A funeral will be held at Arlington Memorial Cemetery on Thursday, August 6th at 10am. The family requests that any donations be made in Marvin’s memory to CURE Childhood Cancer / Lauren’s Run & Picnic.
