OBITUARY

Louis Edward Holtz, born August 16, 1953 in Atlanta, Georgia passed away August 23, 2024 from an aggressive form of pancreatic cancer… he was very much at peace and with his loving and devoted wife, Alicia, at the time. He shared that he had a great life, no regrets and was very much at peace.

Louis was predeceased by his parents Bebe and William Holtz, brother Scott Robert Holtz, sisters Cathy Jill Holtz, and Mindy Holtz Rabinowitz. Louis is survived by his loving wife Alicia, sister Jenice Holtz Cunningham (Kevin) and brother Mark Holtz (Robin), children Bari Holtz Hicks (Ricky), Tova Gelfond Rosenberg (Craig), Avi Gelfond (Miriam) and his grandchildren Alana, Jake, Ryleigh, Zoeigh, Ayla, Zeva and Wolfie.

Louis also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and other family members, friends, colleagues and those he never met but helped in various capacities … He leaves a legacy of those that he provided for whether it was financially, educationally, wisdom and teaching. He will be deeply missed by all who know him, especially his poker buddies of many years – that will be a hard chair to fill.

A legacy to Louis is presently being completed as a mural on the side of his warehouse on Humphries Street by those that he helped bring attention and art to that area and other areas of Atlanta which he loved …. He will be missed tremendously but never forgotten …

If you would like to do something meaningful in his memory, do something kind for someone and always pay it forward whether you know them or not … the map of Louis’s life was vast and far and he will be remembered everywhere we go.
