In Loving Memory of Lorraine Studin Lutz
(Lovingly known to her family as Mamoo)

The world lost a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend on October 24, 2025 when Lorraine Studin Lutz passed away peacefully surrounded by family at age 96.

Born on May 8, 1929, during the Great Depression, Lorraine’s childhood in Hartford was shaped by resilience, family, and the diverse community around her. Those early years gave her a toughness and adaptability that carried through her entire life.

She was a woman who could build something from nothing, and she did—whether it was a thriving business, a close-knit family or a friendship that lasted a lifetime. In an era when women were told they couldn’t succeed in business, Lorraine defied expectations. She went out and proved otherwise, eventually founding and growing her own company. Her determination and charm won her loyal customers, and she worked into her nineties, never losing the sharp mind and tenacity that defined her.

As a wife, Lorraine was a true partner in life’s journey. Her marriage to Wayne (“Gramps”) was one of laughter, loyalty, and adventure. He brought a lightness that balanced her strength, and together they shared more than four decades of love. As a mother, she was both fierce and tender, raising her children with unwavering love, clarity, and humor. As “Mamoo,” she was the heart of the family, delighting in her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, never missing a chance to celebrate their milestones or make them laugh.

Lorraine loved to be surrounded by people and stories. She brought humor into nearly every situation—whether turning a business setback into a funny tale or teasing her children with her quick wit. She had a gift for connection, making friends everywhere she went, and ensuring no one ever felt like a stranger in her presence. Her family will especially treasure the book of stories she wrote, capturing her life in her own words so that her voice, her humor, and her wisdom will continue to guide future generations.

Lorraine is survived by her spouse of 46 years, Wayne Lutz; her brother Lenny Ravich, her children Andrea Anton (David), Robert (Julie), and Karen Kraimer (Alan); her grandchildren Ken Anton, Amy Glade (Marshall), Jessica Cipri (Josh), Zack Kraimer (Marie-Claire), and Danielle Perchonok (Jake); and her great-grandchildren Jordyn, Julia, Asher, Olivia, Eve, Lyla, and Julian. She is also survived by Wayne’s daughter Denise Gattuso and grandchildren Victoria and Elizabeth.  She leaves behind not just her family and friends, but a legacy of resilience, laughter, and love.

There will be a private ceremony for Lorraine’s family on 10/27 In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to MD Anderson Cancer Center, The Neurofibromatosis Network, or to a charity of your choice.

She was, and will always be, our Mamoo.
