Lance Nicholas OBITUARY

It is with profound sadness that we share the passing of Lance Gregory Nicholas, 57, who left us on October 30 at his beloved vacation home in Sapphire, North Carolina.

Born on February 24, 1968, in Atlanta, Georgia, Lance lived a life full of creativity, laughter, and love. He was a 1986 graduate of Briarcliff High School and spent the summers of his youth at Camp Barney Medintz, where he formed many lifelong friendships.

Lance was a proud graduate of The University of Alabama and began his career in regional banking and small-business lending before discovering his true calling in real estate. With his background in finance, an eye for design, and a deep understanding of people, Lance transformed countless houses into homes—each reflecting his signature blend of warmth, sophistication, and style.

Lance’s professional journey spanned decades and market cycles, yet through it all, he remained true to his values: integrity, kindness, and connection. He built his success not only on talent but on relationships. He was extremely proud of the trust he nurtured with clients and colleagues, many of whom became dear friends.

Outside of work, Lance found joy in the simple but beautiful things in life. He loved traveling with Bill, hosting gatherings filled with laughter and good food, and spending quiet weekends on the coast or in the mountains with their beloved dogs. He also cherished time with friends who became more like family. Lance had an extraordinary gift for making everyone feel special, greeting loved ones with his trademark warmth and personal endearments.

Lance’s creativity, compassion, and humor touched everyone who knew him. He leaves behind a legacy of beauty, connection, laughter, and love that will continue to inspire those fortunate enough to have shared in his life.

He is survived by his husband, Bill; his mother, Paula Goldman Pendleton (Les); his father, David (Paula); and his brother, Brett.

A celebration of Lance’s life will be held on December 6, 2025, at a private residence in Sandy Springs. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to your local animal shelter, humane society, or the Wild Hearts Equine Therapy Center in Seneca, South Carolina, in honor of Lance’s lifelong love of animals.
