Johnnie Hixson Williams

Johnnie Hixson Williams, 87, of Atlanta, Georgia, departed this life peacefully on Wednesday, Augst 22, 2024, at Sunrise Assisted Living facility.

Johnnie pursued a career in education, having graduated from Fort Valley State College with a degree in Education. She earned her Masters degree from the University of Northern Colorado. She was an accomplished educator and taught Home Economics in the Miami-Dade County School System, at Miami Edison Senior High School where she achieved numerous awards and accolades and was the Director of the Home Economics Department. She retired from the profession she loved and dedicated her life to after 30 years.

Her son, Delmon, preceded her in death, but she leaves to mourn five siblings – Sisters Gertrude and Terri (Lovie); brother John, Bose, and Jerry, and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.

A memorial service will be held at a later date. Arrangements in the care of Dressler’s Funeral Care, Atlanta, Georgia.
