OBITUARY:
A loving Mother, Grandma “Jilly Bean”, sister, daughter and friend, our beloved Jill Friedman Paradies passed away unexpectedly on August 14, 2026 at the age of 59. She is survived by her loving children, Alex Nagel (Nia) and Kelsie King (Mason), her beautiful grandchild Kinsley King, her siblings Cindy Paradies (Larry Moscow) and Gregg Paradies (Beth), and her many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her mother and father, Judy and Jimmy Paradies.

Jill graduated from Emory University and received a Masters in Social Work from the University of Georgia. She then worked with children and families at Jewish Family Services, providing help and comfort to people of all faiths in the Atlanta area. Eventually she was enticed to join the family business, serving first as an Assistant Buyer and then Director of Human Resources at what was then known as The Paradies Shops.

Jill’s heart was always full, and her infectious laugh was hearty and distinctive. Growing up, we all knew her affectionately as “Jillie” with her sweet smile and her two pony tails – she was kind and compassionate, instinctively seeking out the children who didn’t quite fit in—the ones who weren’t necessarily the most popular and who needed a friend. Jill was that friend. She had a remarkable ability to see people for who they were and to make them feel valued. Later in life, her thoughtfulness continued - always rushing to the bedside of ailing family members, moving back to her childhood home to manage the care of her beloved father during the final months of his life. No matter what else may have been going on in her life, Jill always remembered the birthdays or anniversaries of her far-flung extended family.

A slave to fashion, her children Alex and Kelsie were always the best dressed on the playground, sometimes in matching outfits, always stepping out in style. We all enjoyed so many extended family beach vacations together with Mama Judy and Boppie, with lots of laughter and love, the kids running around on the beach and in the waves, while parents chased after.

After raising her children, she moved to the Delray Beach area, engaging in volunteer activities, supporting friends and family from near and far, and doting on her two pups. Jill embraced her ever-growing family, first with spouses Nia and Mason, and most recently, her first grandchild, Kinsley, born just months ago. Jill was enthralled with her new grandbaby – the love, joy and happiness that she experienced during these months are memories that will be forever etched in our hearts.
