Jeff was born in Atlanta, Georgia, on November 30, 1947. He attended Grady High School, now Midtown, and the University of Georgia before going on to receive his law degree from Emory University.
After passing the bar exam, Jeff made what was supposed to be a temporary decision that would shape the rest of his life. He joined his father and uncle at their wholesale apparel business, intending to help for just a few weeks. Those few weeks turned into a remarkable 40-plus-year career. Jeff ultimately became President of Riada Mills Co. and helped lead the company to new heights.
Jeff was predeceased by his parents, Jayne and Irving Adair. He is survived by his children, Jordan (Jenny) and Cort (Lauren); his beloved grandchildren, Arden, Chase, Ava, and Owen; and his brother, Craig (Susan).
Jeff loved spending time with his family, especially watching his grandchildren participate in activities. He rarely missed an event and was always there cheering them on. He also loved playing golf with his buddies and enjoyed the laughter and camaraderie that came with it.
Jeff will be remembered for his genuine kindness, his generosity, his love of family, and his ability to make everyone around him feel welcome. As one friend put it, Jeff had “the best laugh he ever heard.”
Above all, Jeff was a devoted father, grandfather and friend who will be deeply missed by everyone fortunate enough to know him. Donations in his memory can be made to Weinstein Hospice or The William Breman Jewish Home.
