FUNERAL SERVICE: A graveside funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM on Monday, November 24, 2025, at Crest Lawn Memorial Park, 2000 Marietta Blvd NW, Atlanta, GA 30318.

OBITUARY:

Jacob Zeder, 71, of Atlanta, GA, passed away on November 22, 2025, in Atlanta, GA. He was born on January 5, 1954, in Atlanta, GA, son of the late Albert and Naomi Zeder, Holocaust survivors.

Jacob attended Grady High School in Atlanta, GA. He received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Georgia in 1976 and was an avid Georgia Bulldog fan. After graduating, he lived in Israel for two years, where he worked as a youth substance abuse counselor. Upon returning from Israel, he became a commercial insurance underwriter until he retired. 

Jacob loved his Jewish identity and was a staunch defender of Israel. He loved being outdoors, whether walking in the park or barefoot in the yard picking weeds. He enjoyed yoga, meditation, reading, and listening to classic rock & roll music (especially Bob Dylan). But most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family.

Jacob is predeceased by his parents, Albert and Naomi Zeder, Holocaust survivors. He is survived by his loving wife, Nancy Zeder; sons, Daniel Zeder of Wilmington, NC, and Joshua Zeder of Atlanta, GA; sister, Frieda Hodes of Henderson, NC; nieces, Dena (Ian) Montgomery of Atlanta, GA, and Leigh Hodes of Richmond, VA; brother-in-law, Bill (Julianne) Gilreath of Kennesaw, GA; loving cousins; and many great friends.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Congregation Shearith Israel, the Jewish National Fund, or The International Fellowship of Christians & Jews.

The funeral will be held at Crest Lawn Cemetery on Monday, 11/24/2025, at 3:00 with Rabbi Ari Kaiman officiating.
