Isidore “Ike” Luxenberg, 98, of Marietta Georgia, passed away May 27, 2025. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandpa, and a friend to many. An avid golfer into his mid-90s, Ike was known as the “Mayor” of the Chastain Park Golf Course. For his 85th birthday, the golf course dedicated a new bench in his honor. Ike was a good man who lived a good life that spanned almost a century. He grew up in New York and worked as a young man at the family’s bungalow colony in the Catskills, where Ike learned how to do every job and fix everything, but most importantly, it’s where he met vacationing Bernice Taylor, his beloved wife of 69 years, now deceased. Ike is a veteran who served in the U.S. Army during WWII and was deployed in Europe.
He is survived by four daughters: Hope (Craig) Kaufman of Atlanta, Diane (Mark) Lurie of Ocala, Fla., Lynn Westfall of Evergreen, Colo., and Gail Luxenberg of Chicago, Ill. In addition, Ike is survived by his sister Harriet (Ronald) Molko (Miami, FL) and by seven grandchildren: Max and Drew Kaufman, David Lurie, Adam and Allie Westfall, and Lainie and Matthew Cassel.
