OBITUARY
Irene Louise Berson (82) of Atlanta, GA passed away on March 31, 2026. She was a force of nature who made everyone feel special. She brightened every room she entered with her warmth and enthusiasm and filled it with her laughter and stories. When Irene wasn’t changing lives through her dedicated career as a therapist, she spent her time being an amazing friend, mother, aunt, sister and grandmother to her biological family and equally important ‘found families’ from all over. She had a way of drawing special and loyal people into her orbit and making sure that each of them received her utmost love and attention.
Irene was preceded in death by her parents Max Kurt and Ruth Gunzenhauser. She is survived by her adoring husband Bob Clein; her sons Jeff (Jessica) and Brian (Lisa); her stepchildren Paul (Michelle) and Marian (Bill); her brother Stephen (Rochelle); her grandchildren Alana, Ashley, Chelsea, Liam, Devin, Stephanie (Jared) and Josh (Andrea); her great-grandson Grant; her nieces Marisa and Amy (Tom); in addition to so many close friends who she considered family.
A graveside funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, April 3, 2026, at Greenwood Cemetery with Rabbi Lapidus of The Temple officiating. Arrangements are by Dressler’s. The funeral will be streamed on Zoom, link accessible via the Dressler’s website. Following the funeral there will be a celebration of her life in the social room of 750 Park Avenue NE.
In lieu of food or flowers, please consider making a donation to the Endless Mountain Music Festival in Irene’s memory.
The family wishes to extend their sincere thanks to her caregivers Hazel, Georgia, Shequanna and Kendall.
