Howard Frushtick OBITUARY

FUNERAL SERVICE: Friday December 19, 2025 12:00 PM at Crest Lawn Memorial Park.

Howard Eugene Frushtick, beloved father, grandfather, partner, brother, and friend, passed away in Atlanta, Georgia, on December 15, 2025.

Howard was born in Jersey City, New Jersey, to Herman and Molly Frushtick. Raised as an observant Jew, he grew up in humble beginnings, helping in his father’s candy store and learning the values of hard work, humility, and devotion to family. He was surrounded by love from his older sisters, Shirley Goldschein and Doris Kessler, whose bond shaped his lifelong commitment to family.

As a young man, Howard attended George Washington University, where he played basketball — a passion that carried through his entire life. On the court he was strong and determined; off the court he was gentle, compassionate, and devoted to those he loved.

Howard built a successful career as a salesman in the ladies’ apparel business, later thriving at the Atlanta Apparel Mart, where he formed countless friendships and was admired for his warmth, humor, and integrity.

Howard was larger than life. He was always moving, working out, and doing whatever he could to stay healthy. He could be seen daily riding his scooter in the bike lane to get to the JCC, where he lifted weights and stayed active with the same determination that defined his spirit.

Beyond his career and fitness, Howard was known for his joy in dancing. He organized groups to visit senior homes, bringing music, laughter, and dignity to residents. His optimism and generosity touched everyone he met.

Howard’s greatest pride was his family. He was the devoted father of twin sons, David (married to Julie) and Jay, and took immense joy in their accomplishments and the men they became. He was blessed to share the last 15 years of his life with his partner, Patricia, whose love and care brought him happiness and peace. In his final months, his best friend Norman stood faithfully by his side, offering strength and companionship.

Howard cherished his daughter-in-law, Julie, who lovingly cared for him alongside David. He was the proud grandfather of Sofia and Chloe, admired for their dedication to rowing and their scholarships, and of Max and Noah, David and Julie’s twin sons, who are growing into kind, smart, and athletic young men. To his grandchildren, he was not only a grandfather but a source of wisdom, playfulness, and unconditional love.

Howard will be remembered for his towering presence, his optimism, his devotion to family, and his unforgettable hugs — hugs so strong they sometimes nearly knocked the wind out of you, but always left you feeling cherished and safe.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 19th, at 12:00 PM at Crestlawn Cemetery in Atlanta, Georgia.

In Jewish tradition, we say: Zichrono livracha — may his memory be a blessing. Howard’s memory will indeed be a blessing, carried forward by his family, his friends, and all who were touched by his kindness, joy, and love.
