Obituary:
Hayley Kurzman Rosenthal of Marietta, GA, passed away peacefully at her home on December 8, 2025. Born in the Bronx, NY, she moved to Atlanta, GA as a teenager and graduated from Ridgeview High School. She went on to earn both her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in education from the University of Georgia. Hayley spent her career as an elementary school teacher in Cobb County, where she retired in 2021 after 29 years of service.
Hayley was active in the ALTA tennis league for decades. She loved Broadway shows and plays, traveling to the U.S. Open with her close friends “The Kittens”, arts and crafts, annual cruises with David, and relaxing at her condo on Hilton Head Island. She cherished the friendships she made with her tennis, Kincaid Elementary, and Villages of East Park friends.
She is survived by her son, David Rosenthal of Atlanta, GA; her brother, John Kurzman (Lisa) of Lake Hopatcong, NJ; and her nephews and niece, Evan (Cait), Faith, and Gary Kurzman. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lawrence “Larry” and Gerry Kurzman.
The family would like to express their gratitude to Sue Cebula and her dedicated caretaking team for the love and support they provided to Hayley during her final years.
A funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM at Dressler’s Jewish Funeral Care. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Hayley’s honor to RedefinED Atlanta to support students’ access to high-quality education: https://redefinedatlanta.org/donate/
