SHIVA: The family will observe shiva Tuesday, July 21, 2026 6:30 p.m. at the home of David (Dori) Kleber, 4635 Dellrose Drive Dunwoody, GA 30338 and on Wednesday, July 22, 2026, 6:30 p.m. at the home of Steve (Jamie) Kleber, 986 Old Powers Ferry Road, Sandy Springs, GA 30327.

OBITUARY:

Garvin Kleber age 96 passed away on July 19, 2026.

While growing up in Miami, Florida, Garvin attended Miami High School, and the University of Miami under a band scholarship and played with The U of M “Band of the Hour.” He met and married Barbara (Levy) of Coral Gables and this past August celebrated their 69th wedding anniversary.

Following college, Garvin enlisted in the US Air Force and played with The Air Force Band in Washington, DC.

Garvin was a member of the Ahavath Achim Synagogue.

After 50 years, he returned to music, and as a principal clarinetist joined with The Atlanta Musician’s Orchestra as well as The New Horizons Band of Atlanta and The Clarinet Quartet.

Garvin was a caring and devoted husband, father and grandfather. All who knew him will remember his kindness, good humor and strong family values.

Survivors include his beloved wife, Barbara, three sons, Steven (Jamie) Scott (Nancy Habif) and David (Dori) as well as his 9 grandchildren, Shaun, Troy (Sarah Jane) Brandon, Chase, Selena, Morgan, Shane, Nathan and Naomi as well as a great grandson, Leo.
