SHIVA: Shiva will be observed on Sunday, June 28, 2026 and Monday, June 29, 2026. The family will be receiving guest on Sunday at 5:30 PM with a Minyan service starting at 6:00 PM. Monday the family will be receiving guest at 6:30 PM with a Minyan service at 7:00 PM at the home of Ivan and Elayne Skott; 6206 Meadow Run Court, Peachtree Corners, Ga, 30092.

OBITUARY:

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Elayne Weiner Skott, known to all as Lanee. Lanee was born on August 28, 1944 in Memphis, Tennessee, to Gertrude and Sam Wiener. The youngest of three sisters, she found a constant companion in her sister Harel, and spent her childhood exploring the outdoors. 

As a young woman, Lanee followed Harel to Atlanta, where she met her future husband, Ivan. They married after a short engagement, and their children Courtney and Benjamin soon followed. Lanee was a devoted mother, focused on teaching and enriching her children with books and creative pursuits. She had a career as an x-ray technician, a professional artist, and later worked as a preschool teacher, which brought her great joy. 

Lanee was possessed of an adventurous spirit and love of nature. A sudden detour to the side of the road to rescue an interesting looking plant was not unusual. She loved making art, gardening, and reading. She was also a collector: of flowers, of tchotchkes, and most importantly, of friends. 

Lanee died on June 26, 2026 at the age of 81 after a long struggle with Alzheimer’s disease. She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Ivan; her children Benjamin and Courtney; her granddaughter Evabel; her sister, Micki; and many beloved nieces and nephews.
