OBITUARY:
Edward Koffsky, a devoted husband, loving father and grandfather, and cherished friend to many, passed away at his home in Atlanta on July 25, 2025, at the age of 82. Known for his kindness and integrity, Edward leaves behind a legacy of warmth, wisdom, and unwavering love for his family.
Born in Sodus, New York in 1943, Edward moved to Albany, New York at a young age. After Edward’s father passed away when he was 14, he and his mother moved to Rochester, New York to be closer to family. After high school, Edward attended Bowling Green State University in Ohio where he obtained undergraduate and graduate degrees in U.S. history while also pursuing a career in teaching. Edward then worked for several Jewish organizations in various cities in Ohio until moving to Atlanta to head its Israel Bonds office in 1983. In the late 1990s, Edward acquired a new set of skills and served as an Information Technology specialist at Emory University until his retirement.
In his spare time, Edward was deeply involved in area Jewish synagogues and schools, where he often volunteered his time and served on boards.
Edward is survived by his beloved wife Lynn, with whom he shared 57 years of marriage; his son and daughter-in-law Mark and Ann Koffsky of West Hempstead, New York; his son and daughter-in-law Jay and Elissa Koffsky of Woodmere, New York; and his grandchildren Aaron & Dahila, Jeremy, Adira (of blessed memory), Hannah, Sophia, Eva, Ellie, and Isaac.
A funeral was held at Boulevard-Riverside Chapels in New York on July 28th.
