Dr. Jacob Moshev OBITUARY

Dr. Jacob Moshev, age 87, left this world peacefully on April 22, 2025 following a brief illness, surrounded by family and friends. Jacob Moshev was born in Sofia, Bulgaria, on October 13, 1937, to the late Dr. David  Moshev and Louiza Moshev. At the age of 12,  he immigrated to Israel with his family. The youngest of two children, he graduated from High School in Tel-Aviv, Israel. He served 3 years in the Israeli Army.

Dr. Moshev graduated MAGNA CUM LAUDE in 1969, receiving his Medical Degree from Tel-Aviv University. He completed his Internship and his Residency in General Surgery at Ichiloff Hospital in Tel-Aviv, Israel.  He completed his Residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Hasharon Hospital in Petah-Tiqva, Israel.

In the United States, Dr. Moshev completed 1 year of his Residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the French and Poly Clinic Medical School and Health Center in New York City, and 3 years at The Brookdale Hospital Medical Center, Department of  Obstetrics and Gynecology, in Brooklyn, New York. A man of many interests, he spoke English, German, Spanish, Hebrew, Russian, and other Slavic languages, including Yiddish.

In 1975, Dr. Moshev relocated to Atlanta, Georgia, where he began Cobb Women's Center, which was affiliated with Parkway Medical Center and later with Cobb Hospital. A respected Gynecologic surgeon and Obstetrician, his career spanned more than 30 years serving women 's healthcare needs. He always strived to be a leader in knowledge and expertise in his area.

Beyond Dr. Moshev’s love of medicine, he enjoyed traveling the world and had a special place in his heart for small animals.

Dr. Jacob Moshev is preceded in death by his parents David and Louiza Moshev, sister and brother-in-law, Rozi and Jacob Achtenberg.  He is survived by his loving wife, Carole Dianne Walker of Atlanta, and his nieces, Dafna Harel and Orna Vizel of Tel-Aviv.  He leaves to mourn, many good friends who loved and also cherished their time with him.    

Funeral services were held at Arlington Memorial Park on April 23, 2025 at 2:30 pm.
