OBITUARY:
In the quiet hours of February 1, the world lost a radiant soul. Claudia Jean (Holden) Erbesfield, 75, peacefully passed away next to her beloved husband of 29 years. While dementia stole her memory, her loving heart and good humor never wavered. In her final days, Claudia was able to convey her love to family members who were with her immediately preceding her passing.
Claudia was celebrated for her unwavering optimism, infectious laughter, and radiant smile. A proud graduate of Henry Grady High School, she maintained a close bond with her cherished “Grady Girls” throughout her life. Many treasured moments were shared at her beloved Seagrove Beach, where family and friends gathered to create lasting memories.
Claudia’s career in real estate administration spanned respected organizations like Warshaw Properties, Prudential Georgia Realty, and Harry Norman Realty. Throughout her work, she earned admiration for her grace under pressure and impeccable integrity.
Claudia was easily moved, shedding tears at touching commercials and laughing wholeheartedly at her boys' antics. She wore her heart on her sleeve, and her family lovingly remembers her genuine, expressive nature, cherishing the emotional moments she so freely shared. Over the years, she joined her beloved “Grady Girls” in the annual two-day walk honoring her late sister-in-law, Randi Warshaw, a testament to her enduring compassion and community spirit.
She is lovingly survived by her husband, Jerry Erbesfield of Roswell; her brother, William “Bill” Holden (Susan) of Birmingham, AL; her sons, Nathan Warshaw (Kylee) of Marietta, Lenny Warshaw (Sarah) Canton, and stepson Brian Erbesfield (Heather) of Kennesaw; as well as her nine cherished grandchildren—Lexie, Josh, Jordan, Connor, Livie, Hanna, Emma, Chase, and Alexus—and two great-grandchildren, Matthew and James, who were her pride and joy.
Claudia was preceded in death by her parents, W.C. and Oneda Holden, her sister Brenda (Holden) Mitchell, and stepdaughter, Michelle (Missy Erbesfield) Billingsley.
A graveside service to honor Claudia’s remarkable life will be held at 2:30 PM on Thursday, February 6, at Arlington Memorial Park, 201 Mt Vernon Hwy NW, Sandy Springs, GA 30328, Atlanta.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Claudia’s memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital (https://www.stjude.org), The Temple (https://www.the-temple.org/payment.php), or to a charity of your choice.
