Barbara LeNoble Sheaffer

Barbara LeNoble Sheaffer of Atlanta, GA and Longboat Key, FL passed away peacefully on December 2nd surrounded by loved ones.  Born in New York, NY she moved to Plainview Long Island, NY as a child and graduated from John F Kennedy High School.  She was a graduate of Kent State University and earned an MBA from the Stern School of Business at NYU.  Barbara spent her professional career working in Marketing and Fundraising in both the public and private sectors.

She is survived by her husband of 32 years Doug Sheaffer, daughter Molly Scantland (Matt) of Chattanooga, TN, granddaughter, Amelia Scantland, bothers Alan LeNoble (Shannon) of New York City and Rick LeNoble.  She was preceded in death by her parents Doris and Lee LeNoble.

Barbara was a New Yorker through and through, returning often to the city she loved to spend time with her many lifelong friends. She and her husband shared a passion for travel, frequently exploring new countries and embracing the joy of experiencing each place as the locals do.

A longtime member of The Temple in Atlanta, Barbara was active in the choir and led a Temple social group on countless outings throughout the city. She also cherished her daily walks with her dog, Boris, alongside friends in the neighborhood, and found grounding and energy through her love of yoga.

Barbara was a devoted mother, and one of the highlights of her year was planning her granddaughter’s baby shower in the spring. She was overjoyed to welcome her granddaughter, Amelia, into the world this July.

In every setting—professional or social—Barbara was known for her warmth, wit, positivity, and can-do spirit. She made every interaction feel meaningful, and her love for her friends and family was evident in all she did. She will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
