Obituary:

Barbara Katinsky, of Atlanta, Georgia, passed away on September 22, 2025, at the age of 94. She is survived by her loving children, Jonathan (Sheri) Katinsky, David (Paula) Katinsky, Matthew (Nola) Katinsky, and Michael Katinsky; her adoring grandchildren, Sarah Joshua Katinsky, Jacob Katinsky, Nicholas Katinsky, Astra Katinsky, Hannah Katinsky, and Samuel Katinsky; and her niece Mickie Allen and nephew Stephen Schreiber. She was predeceased in death by her great love, husband Arnold Katinsky, and her parents, Philip and Minnie Gross. Born into humble beginnings, Barbara made her mark at Girls High in Philadelphia, where she established many lifelong friendships, and at Temple University, where she was a member of Theta Sigma Phi national fraternity for women in journalism. A talented and entertaining writer, Barbara was an accomplished columnist and City Editor for The Philadelphia Jewish Times. In addition to raising four boys, she worked as a librarian, an editor of trade journals, and later – for more than 20 years – in the office of Temple Sinai, welcoming a generation of new members into the temple. She was an avid reader, crossword puzzle enthusiast, and enjoyed taking multiple trips to Israel and France with Arnold. She relished her faith, was actively involved in Temple Sinai and treasured its community. Services will be held at 1pm on September 25th at Temple Sinai, 5645 Dupree Dr in Sandy Springs. Internment to follow at Arlington. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that contributions be made through Temple Sinai to the Barbara and Arnold Katinsky Spirituality Endowment Fund.
