It is with great love and sadness that we announce the passing of Anita Teper Zimmerman Beckman, 95, of Atlanta, on October 29, 2025, surrounded by the warmth of her family.

Born in St. Louis, Missouri, on October 10, 1930, to Rae Gold and Alex Teper, Anita was one of seven children. She made Atlanta her home in the 1940s and built a long, meaningful life filled with kindness, generosity, and grace.

Anita was preceded in death by her beloved husbands, Sam Beckman and Seymour Zimmerman, and her dear daughter Arlene Cohen (deceased, spouse Bryan Cohen). She is lovingly remembered by her daughters, Elisa Zimmerman and Jan Zimmerman; grandsons Zehner Evans, Logan Cohen (Jessica), and Zachary Cohen (Saira); and great-grandchildren Sam, Zain, Laurel, Hazel, Amina, and Aydin.

Anita found joy in gardening, spending time with friends, and being surrounded by family. She was always ready with a listening ear and a kind word, and she had a special way of making everyone feel valued and loved. Her gentle heart, quick smile, and thoughtful nature will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 31, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at Crestlawn Cemetery, with arrangements by Dressler’s Jewish Funeral Care.

In lieu of flowers, the family invites friends and loved ones to honor Anita’s memory by sharing kindness with others—just as she always did
