Ada Shorr OBITUARY

OBITUARY: 
It is with sadness that the family of Ada Mae Shorr to announce she passed away on October 16th, 2024 in Atlanta, Georgia.  She was a beloved mother, sister, grandmother, and friend to many. 

She was born on January 13th, 1939 in Miami, Florida to Celia and Alex Rosenfeld.  Ada graduated from Grady High School in 1956 and was a graduate of University of Florida.  Ada was president of Delta Phi Epsilon sorority.  After graduation, she moved to Los Angeles and worked as an executive at a television company.  In 1970, she moved to London, England until returning to Atlanta in the early 1990’s where she spent the rest of her life.

She is survived by her loving children Lise, Samantha and Sebastian, her grandchildren Emma, Lucas, Owen, Matthew, Lila and Sammy, and her nephew, Clinton and great niece Shira.

Ada loved to cook and was an amazing host. She made every home she lived in beautiful. She loved to dine out and she loved traveling and, in her life, got to see a lot of the world. She was a big supporter of the arts and always spent a lot of time at galleries and the theater. One of her great loves was cats and she spent many years volunteering for a cat shelter called Fur Kids. She loved her friends and maintained many lifelong friendships. She was an amazing grandmother and spent time sharing her love of reading and cooking with her grandchildren who knew her as Nana.

She will be missed greatly by her friends and family.

The funeral service will be held on Tuesday October 22nd at 2pm.  She will be laid to rest at Crest Lawn Memorial Park in Atlanta.
