    Jaye Demeter BergenNov 24 2010 09:40 pm
Dear Sneiderman Family, As a daughter of a father who died when I was just 4 years old, my heart goes out to you, for now and for the future of Russell's wife and children. I was struck by your tragedy, and am thinking of you now. Keep your husband and father alive with distinct stories and memories. Random photographs can illustrate facets of his life that enrich and inspire his children. Little gems are everywhere. Nourish their little spirits and they will never forget him, and they will give you strength. This is a terrible time to lose a parent, he has disappeared from life so quickly, while their personalities are still forming. May all members of your family, his parents, brother and sister-in-law, polish his memory til it shines and cannot be forgotten: HE DID EXIST. To Sophia and Ian, YOUR FATHER LOVED YOU SO MUCH. You can show him you love him by living your lives to the fullest, and emulating the tremendously beneficial qualities he embodied. He is forever young, and forever with you. With Love from a Survivor of this same terrible loss, yes, my father also was murdered. Russell, Rest In Peace, and watch your family shine. Let them hold the world without you in it, and you will never die. I still answer the knock at the door in my dreams, and it is him, just as he was in life. Forever a part of me. With Love and Thoughts of you all, Jaye Demeter Bergen
    RosemaryNov 24 2010 09:15 pm

I read about this tragic event online and just want to say that I'm sorry to hear of your loss...the world is full of evil and it's very sad that it collided with such a generous, giving person as Rusty apparently was. I hope that God will give you strength to deal with his passing...and I hope that you find out soon who it was who did this and that they are brought to justice. "Our help is in the name of the LORD, who made heaven and the mountains surround Jerusalem, so the LORD surrounds His people from this time forth and forever." Psalm 124,125 Shalom, B.H.

I came upon this story by chance and it moved me to tears. I am asking myself how a people who's numbers are dwindling fast can sustain losing a quality person such as Russell. When we lose one person, the whole Jewish community grieves as though it were a loss of their own family member. May the Lord bless you and keep you and know that thousands are mourning with you.
    VivianNov 23 2010 08:00 pm

To the family of Rusty Sneiderman, I am writing following the announcement of Rusty Sneiderman's death. I write with painstaking grief over such a tragic, early death of such an extraordinary man. I never knew Rusty but I have been saddened that such a giving person lost his life at such an early age, leaving a family and children who will not have him for the rest of their lives. The obituary I read associated with noted the giving nature of Rusty and his service on so many charities. It is hard to imagine and understand how this trajedy could happen. Please know that you are in my thoughts and that there are people in the Jewish community who are in grief with you. You are not alone at this time. Our Hillel at UT-San Antonio will remember him at an upcoming event and note the merits he modeled for so many.. May you be consoled with the other mourners of Zion and may Rusty's memory be a blessing for our People and society at-large. May you be healed with the support of community, friends, and family. Rosalind Horowitz, Ph.D. Director, Hillel at The University of Texas at San Antonio and Professor, College of Education and Human Development

You have family that cares for you beyond belief and the person that did this horrible crime will be brought to justice. I, of course, never knew Rusty. However, I am beyond saddened by this news. At this time of celebration (Thanksgiving) I cannot imagine the grief with which the family is suffering. I, like this family, am Jewish. I have suffered losses.....this one is overwhelming.....just know that strangers in strange lands read this - and sob....I am one of those who has read this and sobbed. I am so sorry and I am so sad......strangers are touched by this tragedy and this sadness. I am one of them. Anita Lippman, St. Louis, MO

I am so sorry to hear of your loss. I did not know him, but I read about Rusty's death on AOL News, and I felt so sad that a young man of such kindness, intelligence and compassion was cut dow so senselessly. As Jews, we always say, "May his/her memory be a blessing," but no need for the subjunctive in this case: Rusty wasa blessing to so many. Please know you are all in the toughts ad prayers of many.

I only heard of the incident from my daughter who works in Dunwoody; this has touched me to the core! I'm in such shock that someone could do such a terrible thing! Take comfort from knowing Rusty lived his life as a good person, and his children I'm sure will follow in his footsteps. Comfort also comes from knowing this good person left so many wonderful memories with so many people, and he will be remembered lovingly, and respectfully. My deepest sympathies and prayers go out to the entire family.

We have known Rusty since working with him at Deloitte early in his career. He was always one our favorites, but that statement is not very distinguishing -- Rusty was everyone's favorite. He was, indeed, a very smart and talented professional. However, it was his kind heart and thoughtful spirit that made him a joy to be around. We are deeply saddened to hear of this tragic loss. Our prayers are with Andrea, their children and the rest of the Sneiderman family.

    Kevin HughesNov 20 2010 12:37 pm
With all the love in my heart, I send my thoughts and my prayers to you during this tragic time. I hope that you take some measure of comfort in knowing that although I have only known you a short time, I have come to respect and be inspired by you and Rusty. The love was obvious, but the young lady that I have the fortune to teach is such a testament to the smart and strong family that she is blessed to be a part of. Know that Sophia would not be the exemplary and loving child she is without being raised in a home that is exemplary and loving. She is a living reminder of the great and powerful caring force that you and Rusty created in your family. Andrea, what you and Rusty have created will live on and on through your wonderful children and their children, and their children's children. These are gifts that have no expiration.
